Hi. I’m Hope — the official Therapy Pup for Quiet Corner Peer Support.
Yes, official. I take my job very seriously… except when snacks are involved. Then things get complicated.
My role here is one of the most important around: providing comfort, emotional support, and professional-level tail wagging to people who need it most. I greet everyone with my signature move — soft eyes, a happy wag, and a gentle nudge that clearly translates to, “Hi friend. You’re safe here. Also… do you have treats?”
Around QCPS, I spend my days hanging out with first responders, and veterans. They carry a lot on their shoulders, which is why I specialize in sitting very close to them — sometimes extremely close — to help lighten the load. Some people need to talk, and others just need quiet company. Lucky for them, I excel at both listening, and leaning. Leaning is actually one of my strongest clinical skills.
In November of 2024, I was selected as QCPS’s very first official therapy dog. Honestly, I knew I was qualified the moment I walked in. The humans here are special, and the mission is even more special. QCPS is a place where people come to take off the armor they wear every day, and I help with that one tail wag, one paw, and one slightly goofy smile at a time.
I may not understand every word humans say — especially when they spell things like W-A-L-K — but I always understand how people feel. That’s when I scoot closer, rest my head nearby, and remind them they’re not alone. Sometimes healing looks like conversation. Sometimes it looks like a dog quietly sitting beside you pretending not to notice you’re scratching behind their ears.
You’ll usually find me greeting visitors at the door, doing important security rounds (also known as wandering), or curling up next to someone who just needs a calm moment. My job isn’t to fix anything. My job is simply to be there — and apparently shed a little love everywhere I go.
At Quiet Corner Peer Support, I’m more than just a dog. I’m a listener, a comforter, and proof that healing can come in many forms… sometimes with four paws, a wagging tail, and a heart bigger than my food bowl.
So if you visit my QCPS family, don’t worry — I’ll be there too, making sure you feel welcome.
After all… everyone deserves a little Hope.
Paws For Hope

You may have seen Hope in your newsfeed, on TV, or at community events-a gentle-eyed puppy with a calm presence, and a heart full of purpose. But behind the leash is a deeper story of healing, family, and connection.
Step into the paws of a puppy with a purpose in Paws for Hope. Hope isn't just any dog-she training to become a therapy companion for first responders, and military veterans. From the moment she's welcomed into her new home, she feels the quiet weight of unspoken pain. Her handler bears invisible scars, and the family she joins is learning to balance love, healing, and his unwavering mission to help others find their voice. Heartfelt, hopeful, and deeply human, this unforgettable journey reminds us that sometimes the smallest paws leave the biggest prints on our hearts.
As Hope grows, so does her bond with the family that takes her in. She becomes more than just a pet-she becomes part of a journey. Side by side, they begin building something life changing: a peer support team designed to help those who face trauma on the front lines-so they never have to face it alone.
Told with tenderness, raw honesty, and a touch of humor, Paws for Hope is a moving tribute to the power of family-both chosen and biological-and the quiet strength it takes to turn pain into purpose.
From the author of Pushing It Down comes a powerful new perspective on healing, resilience, and the unbreakable bonds that carry us through our darkest moments.
In this heartfelt follow-up, Keven continues his story-but this time in the eyes of Hope, a therapy puppy in training. With every wag, nudge, and quiet moment, Hope brings light to the darkest corners of trauma, offering comfort where words fall short. Her journey of connection, and compassion mirrors the emotional recovery unfolding around her-proving that sometimes the smallest hearts carry the greatest strength.

My mission is simple: Show up with a wagging tail, an open heart, and listening ears. Everyday, I step into rooms where people carry heavy stories. Caring for people who spend their lives showing up for others. My job is to remind them it's ok to show up for yourself too, to show them that they too deserve comfort, care, and kindness.
"Don't give up, theres always HOPE..."
